Profile
The Danish metal melting plant Hals Metalsmelteri A/S was founded in 1988. The company started as a small family enterprise aiming at the processing of soil and submarine cable scrap. In 1989 the production was expanded to include the processing of transformers which was a natural step in the company operations due to the oil they contain.
In 1992, following a major expansion, the company was bought by NKT Cables A/S thus becoming the owner of Hals Metalsmelteri A/S until 2002. This year NKT Cables A/S chose to part with the company which accordingly was bought by three managerial members of the staff.
From 1992 to 2002 the company went through a steady and smooth development and in 1998 the trading in various metal fractions was initiated. In the spring 2004 a newly constructed lead melting furnace was put in operation.
